He replaces former Chairman, John Myers, who retires by rotation after completing his initial term of three years at the company.
Michael has been a Non-Executive of TeamRock.com for 16 months and brings over 30 years of experience in IT and telecommunications. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Telecity Group PLC from 2003 to August 2014, managing the company through a successful IPO in October 2007, and subsequently growing the company to become the leading data centre business in Europe with a market cap of over £1.5bn, says TeamRock.
Michael is the recipient of numerous business awards including PWC Technology CEO of the Year in 2007, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009, 2010 and 2011, London Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year in 2009 and 2010, and in 2014 he was awarded an OBE for Services to the Digital Economy.
