Telegraph appoints MD, Motoring

Telegraph Media Group has announced the appointment of Erin Baker to the new position of Managing Director, Motoring.

This uniquely hybrid role will see Erin working across both commercial and editorial, including still writing a regular column for the paper.

Erin’s appointment to this new role marks TMG’s commitment to the motoring industry, aligning commercial and editorial interests. Following on from the success of the inaugural Telegraph Festival of Motoring last year, Erin will play a vital role in the development of new ideas and events that will demonstrate TMG’s continued focus on the motoring industry, say the publishers.

Previously Head of Motoring, Erin’s column will now focus on general motoring issues rather than car reviews and specific manufacturers to ensure there is no conflict of interest.

Melanie Danks, Client Director, TMG said: “As already proven in her previous editorial role here at TMG, Erin has an unrivalled wealth of motoring knowledge. Here at TMG, we see motoring as a vitally important industry and Erin’s contacts are second-to-none. In short, in this role, she will add editorial expertise to our already extremely strong commercial motoring team.”

Erin Baker, Managing Director of Motoring, TMG, said: “I’m delighted to join the commercial department at TMG, while maintaining my journalistic credentials with a new, weekly Motoring column. The Telegraph has long been a huge advocate of the automotive industry and given the thriving British car market, the timing couldn’t be better for our second Festival of Motoring later this year and the launch of new products and services that we know our audience will love.”
