The final Nuts

The final issue of Nuts magazine went on sale on sale Tuesday.

IPC Media has confirmed that the consultation process about the closure of Nuts and Nuts.co.uk has ended and the brand will close. The final issue of the magazine hit newsstands on Tuesday (29 April 2014) and the website shut down yesterday (30 April 2014).

Jo Smalley, publishing director, Nuts says: "Across all of its various platforms, Nuts was enjoyed by millions of young British men every week during the past 10 years. I'd like to thank the Nuts team for all of their hard work and commitment – it was both a pleasure and a privilege to work with so many talented people on what was a publishing phenomenon by any definition."

Some facts about Nuts from the publishers:

* Nuts, the UK’s first mainstream men's weekly, first hit newsstands on 22 January 2004 with Nell McAndrew as its cover star.

* The magazine enjoyed 10 years at the top of its market, selling in excess of 100 million copies.

* Nuts reached 1.3 million young men every week across its multiple platforms.

* The final issue of the magazine was its 526th edition.

* Over the last ten years some of the world’s biggest celebrities have been photographed with the magazine, including HRH Prince Harry, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Rihanna.
