Jointly owned by Guardian Media Group and Apax Partners, Trader Media Group has decided to end print editions of its magazines after 36 years. The move has been made after falling sales of the titles in recent years and greater demand for the digital editions of the magazines.
In the official announcement from Trader Media Group, Zillah Byng Maddick (pictured), the interim Chief Executive Officer said: “Trader Media Group’s magazines have played a key role in the Group’s 36 year heritage and we are very proud of the market position our brands have achieved during that period.
"With a marked shift by consumers and dealers to online platforms as a means of accessing information and buying and selling vehicles, we continue to innovate to ensure that we offer them the products and services they require through their channels of choice.”
According to distributors COMAG, Trader Media Group will send a letter to independent retailers in June thanking them for their support with the magazines for the last 36 years.
