Trinity Mirror appoints Lynda Moyo as What’s On Editor

Trinity Mirror has appointed a What’s On editor to lead the development of entertainment sections of its regional websites.

Lynda Moyo is tasked with developing a content strategy which will significantly increase user engagement on the regional What’s On platforms.

In her new role, Lynda will work with editorial teams across England and Wales to drive new types of content, focusing at first on the CityLife section of the Manchester Evening News.

Since arriving, Lynda has been working with the MEN editorial team on a project which has doubled audiences to an already strong CityLife section thanks to the introduction of new content which has included a greater focus on bars and clubs and live coverage of big events, says Trinity Mirror.

Lynda, a University of Central Lancashire journalism graduate, joins Trinity Mirror from Manchester Confidential where she edited their Body Confidential supplement site.

Lynda’s arrival coincides with the upgrading of Trinity Mirror’s What’s On platform in partnership with Planvine, providing the most up-to-date listings available.

Lynda said: “I’m delighted to have joined the Trinity Mirror regionals team and it’s really encouraging to see how far we’ve already come with CityLife in such a short period of time.

“I look forward to leading all our What’s On regional teams in making our sites the trusted choice of information and inspiration to help audiences plan their social lives.”

David Higgerson, digital publishing director for Trinity Mirror’s regional brands, said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Lynda’s calibre on our team.

“Alongside the editorial team in Manchester, Lynda has already made a big impact on our audience numbers in Manchester.

“Over the coming weeks, Lynda will begin working with our other newsrooms to drive further growth on top of the audience increase we are seeing thanks to the partnership with Planvine.

“Lynda is demonstrating that there is a huge appetite for our What’s On content if we build it around audience analytics.”
