Andy Hillier appointed as Editor of Third Sector

Haymarket has announced that Andy Hillier has been appointed as Editor of Third Sector.

Andy has been Managing Editor of Third Sector since 2011 and before that he was Deputy Editor of Children & Young People Now. Andy joined Haymarket in 2002 where he worked as a Sub-Editor on Third Sector.

Since rejoining Third Sector, Andy has interviewed some of the leading figures in the charity sector and carried out investigations into controversial issues such as senior executive pay in charities. Andy has been Acting Editor of the title since Stephen Cook retired in March.

Angela Hughes, Associate Publisher of Third Sector, said: "I am delighted that Andy will be at the helm to steer Third Sector through the next stage of its exciting journey. He has a great passion and deep knowledge of the charity sector and is keen to explore how we can increase our engagement with the sector. Congratulations to Andy on a well-deserved promotion. I am excited about what the future holds for Third Sector."

Andy said: "It is a real privilege to be appointed Editor of Third Sector. Under Stephen’s leadership, Third Sector has become the leading publication for the charity sector and developed an enviable reputation for independent journalism. I hope to preserve that tradition but also ensure that it keeps pace in the fast-changing environment charities now face."
