Ascential joins the PPA

Ascential, the global provider of exhibitions and festivals and digital information services for business professionals, has become a member of the PPA.

The company, which owns leading brands such as Cannes Lions, Retail Week, and WGSN, was formerly known as the Top Right Group.

Duncan Painter, CEO of Ascential, will now represent the company on the PPA Board.

Natasha Christie-Miller retains her seat on the PPA Business Board in her position as CEO of Plexus, the Ascential business that brought together the former 4C, Planet Retail/Retail Net Group (RNG), EMAP, and MEED product brands.

Duncan Painter said: "Becoming a member of the PPA is an important step for Ascential. Our organisation is highly committed to the creation of high-quality digital information and exhibition & Festival products. Our industry is fast moving and an important contributor to the businesses and societies we are part of. Our market-leading companies continue to set the standards worldwide as a beacon of success for UK business. We see the PPA as a key body to ensuring we all maintain this position and continue to be global innovators for our industry."

Barry McIlheney, CEO of the PPA, said: "It is fantastic to welcome Ascential into the PPA and for Duncan to take his seat on the PPA Board. We represent an increasingly diverse community that is united through its dedication to professional publishing, irrespective of platform.

"Ascential is home to some powerhouse brands which have been brought together to form an operation that is both impressive in its achievements and progressive in its aims. I highly value their involvement as we continue to develop our offering for our fast-evolving membership."

A number of Ascential brands triumphed at The PPA Awards 2015, including Drapers in the Editor of the Year (Business Media) category and HSJ, which was named Business Media Brand of the Year.
