Autocar launches in the Philippines

Autocar, Haymarket’s automotive media brand, has officially launched in the Philippines.

The debut January / February issue is available on newsstands now with Autocar’s signature mix of news, insight, reviews and road tests and includes an exclusive interview with Pinoy Formula Renault driver Marlon Stöckinger. Also inside is a regular 20-page Stuff section with its own local cover and news.

The title, which is published under licence by SCBC 8 Printing & Publishing, will come out 10 times a year (monthly with two combined bi-monthly issues; January / February and July / August) with a cover price of PHP150 (USD 3.30).

Alastair Lewis, International Director at Haymarket Media Group said: “The launch of Autocar Philippines expands Autocar’s presence in Asia to 10 different markets, more than any other automotive media brand in the region. This gives us a great platform to build on as we seek to widen our audience across print, digital and mobile.”

Edward Marr, Head of Licensing Development, Asia at Haymarket Media Group added: “It’s great to finally launch in the Philippines and the timing couldn’t be better as the market recorded some of the strongest growth in ASEAN in 2013.”

Sam Cu President / CEO at SCBC 8 Printing & Publishing said: "We would like to thank Haymarket for giving us the opportunity to bring two such amazing media brands to the Philippines and relish the opportunity to bring enthusiasts, advertisers, supporters, partners and valued readers world class products."

Ira V. Panganiban, Editor-in-Chief, Autocar Philippines added: "I’m very humbled to be the editor of Autocar Philippines. As a motoring journalist and car enthusiast, I’ve read Autocar for as long as I can remember. It’s great to have the opportunity to create a local edition."
