Bloomberg’s Content Service, a leading provider of news, photos, videos, and data to publishers and broadcasters, yesterday said it was expanding its Spanish- language text news licensing offering. The announcement was made at the WAN-IFRA World News Media Congress.

Bloomberg plans to more than triple its professionally-translated Bloomberg news stories to a volume exceeding 80 stories per day. The service will provide Spanish versions of Bloomberg News’ global coverage including output from bureaus in Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Lima, Madrid, Mexico City and Santiago. Breaking news, analysis, commentary and exclusive feature pieces will be available to News licensing customers and subscribers of the Bloomberg Professional service (aka Bloomberg Terminal), a leading provider of data, news and analysis for more than 325,000 business and financial professionals globally.

"The demand for news in Spanish is growing, and Bloomberg’s Content Service is committed to become the leading provider of quality Spanish-language business news," said Josh Rucci, General Manager and Global Head of Bloomberg's Content Service. "We have experienced translators working side-by-side with reporters in our extensive network of bureaus throughout Latin America and Spain, allowing coverage from several key markets across seven time zones."

According to Bloomberg, the service will feature:

• 80+ Spanish-language stories per day

• Exclusive local stories from Latin America and Spain

• Global business, finance, economic and political news impacting Spanish-speaking markets

• Feature stories on lifestyle, luxury, technology and automotive industries

• Exclusive interviews with presidents, ministries and top executives

• Forecasts and analysis of key commodities, currencies, markets and stocks

• Economic forecasts on Latin America, the United States and Europe

• Bloomberg View opinion columns from market influencers including Mohamed El-Erian, Matthew Winkler, Mac Margolis and Justin Fox

"We have a proven track record of strong partnerships with media outlets around the world, providing premium text, photos and video for use across multiple platforms," added Rucci. "This expansion is an important part of our strategy in extending reach to the growing Spanish-speaking business community around the world."
