D and G offer cruise sampling opportunities

D and G Media, specialists in experiential and monitored free distribution at the UK’s largest cruise terminals, Eurotunnel and the Isle of Wight, have exclusive magazine opportunities at the launch of this year’s three major cruise ships in Southampton.

P&O Cruises Azura, Celebrity Cruises Eclipse and Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth will all be launching cruise ships designed for the UK market.

Reaching over 8,000 affluent passengers with a high disposable income including families, extended families and retired couples, D and G Media’s high quality magazine stands deliver an exceptional take-up of magazines while people wait in the departure lounges before embarkation, says D and G Media. The company also provides a personalised magazine hand-out service as passengers move from baggage reclaim to Arrivals.

Damian Gevertz (pictured), Managing Director says: “This is a unique opportunity for publishers to use the cruise terminals as an efficient way of getting magazines into the hands of their core readers with little or no wastage.

With so much free time on board between ports of call and cabin time for reading and time-out, the cruise ship environment is perfect for passengers wishing to spend time reading and experiencing new magazines they may not have heard or tried before.

The ship launches signify a major investment by cruise operators who are maximising the UK’s love of cruising”.

D and G Media claims to provide an efficient magazine distribution service encompassing their in-house management system, iMAG, which provides weekly tailored reports to publishers including photographic evidence of magazine placement.

About the cruise ships

D and G Media says: "Darcey Bussell, the world’s best-loved ballerina, will launch Azura on the 12th  April 2010. This is the latest and most sophisticated addition to P&O Cruises fleet.
