Dennis launches BrainBox

Dennis Publishing has announced the launch of BrainBox magazine, in partnership with The Green Board Game Company.

With an initial print run of 50,000, the title is an educational magazine aimed at pre-teens (8-11 years) and provides editorial content developed specifically to encourage learning for children of all abilities.

BrainBox is a fast and fun educational memory game already hugely successful in the UK, says Dennis. The new magazine of the same name provides complementary content with games and reading materials often linked with the UK national curriculum. From puzzles to games, colouring-in pages to a Board of Achievement, the magazine is full of activities to keep young minds engaged. It includes a taster give-away of the multi award-winning BrainBox memory recall range. Each issue will be fun and fact-packed, highlighting achievements, alongside recommended books to read by children and for children.

BrainBox magazine will be published monthly with its first issue hitting the shelves this week at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, WHS Smith, and Waitrose, as well as Independent News Stands and other reliable retailers.

Paul Rayner, Publishing Director, Dennis Publishing said: “We’re thrilled to be launching BrainBox magazine with The Green Board Game Company. Not only is Brainbox hugely successful, it is also something we already play at my house, and widely used as a fun educational tool for children and we wanted to emulate this with the content of the magazine. We worked closely with the team at The Green Board Game Company to ensure that the magazine reflects the BrainBox core values, and is a complement to the award-winning game.”

Karen Nunn, The Green Board Games Company’s Marketing Director stated, “This is an exciting venture for BrainBox; our intention from the outset was to find a partner we could work with and who understood the importance of our company credentials and brand strategy. Dennis Publishing has been a perfect affiliate for us and has worked collaboratively and seamlessly throughout the whole process. From a brand perspective this is ideal staging for brand awareness, we are overjoyed with the result and believe it strikes the perfect balance between knowledge and fun!”

The 48-page first issue of BrainBox magazine features Numbers as the main subject, with other areas covered including History and even Football facts. Each issue comes cover mounted with the actual playing cards from the Board Game, and this first issue also includes a sand timer and 8-sided dice to ensure hours of BrainBox fun, says Dennis Publishing.
