Dennis publish first Scratch’n’Sniff cover

Dennis Publishing is taking magazine publishing to a new level with an exclusive scratch’n’sniff front cover in the April issue of Bizarre.

The magazine that hits the shelves on Tuesday 15th March has ignored mainstream concerns, giving their readers the opportunity to ‘sniff’ the knickers of cover model Natalie Blair, revealing the scent of latex rubber.

Throughout its 14 years as the world’s “number 1 alternative culture magazine”, Bizarre has always been proud to be different. According to Dennis, the scratch’n’sniff cover was conceived as a fun and original way to present the eccentricity and individuality of the magazine, giving readers an opportunity to physically interact with the product.

The April issue of Bizarre has historically been one of the strongest selling issues of the year. The scratch’n’sniff cover aims to maximise newsstand sales and create even greater stand out - delivering unique and alternative content in a way that is reflective of the brand’s values.

Publisher of Bizarre, Russell Blackman said, “As every magazine editor is acutely aware, it is an increasingly competitive market and all brands need to work harder than ever to make their voices heard. The scratch’n’sniff front cover of Bizarre is a completely unique concept and an industry first. It allows us to offer our readers an exciting and compelling issue, and a product that they will be proud to own. The issue will be supported by significant newstrade promotions across the country, which is expected to lift sales further. We are aiming for this issue to show that, even in a challenging men’s market, Bizarre is very much alive and kicking and continues to push publishing boundaries. The exclusive scratch’n’sniff issue will also contain a special feature on smell fetishes to run alongside the theme of the front cover.”
