ES Magazine unveils a new bold look

This Friday, 12 February 2016, ES Magazine hits the capital, showcasing a confident new design, new contributing editors and an exclusive cover headline interview with Sir Elton John, shot by Juergen Teller.

The magazine features the Hollywood star Liv Tyler, interviewed by Charlotte Edwardes and shot by the renowned fashion and portrait photographer Tom Craig. The author Will Self pens his ode to walking through London, and the magazine reveals where London’s cleverest residents live. Plus, this week marks the launch of a weekly style news page, the unveiling of new ES men’s columnist Ben Machell and Zac Goldsmith shares what he loves most about the capital in My London.

The magazine has been redesigned by the design consultancy Lane & Associates in partnership with the new art director, Rasha Kahil, who joined the title from British Vogue as part of ES Magazine’s newly appointed editorial team, announced at the end of last year. Led by Laura Weir, the magazine’s editor who joined in October, the refresh heralds the arrival of a host of new contributors, expanded fashion content coupled with a greater commitment to beauty coverage, say the publishers. London’s thriving cultural and celebrity scene will continue to feature widely and regular favourites such as My London and Grace Dent’s column, Grace and Flavour, will remain. The team will further build on their food expertise with a newly titled Feast section celebrating dining in the capital.

“Our bold redesign reflects the exciting new direction that ES Magazine is taking. From our renewed focus on beautiful imagery to our new typeface, and elegant new logo, the aim of ES Magazine is to reflect London’s thriving style and culture scene,” says Laura Weir, editor of the magazine. “My newly positioned team are poised to deliver on exclusive fashion, beauty, food and culture coverage, alongside rigorous features reporting. With London Fashion Week only days away, the timing could not be better.”

Jon O’Donnell, Group Commercial Director of ESI Media, said: “ES Magazine is a London icon that now has over 610,000 looking forward to their copy each week. With the amazing new redesign it will even further cement itself as the life and style bible for influential Londoners. This season’s must-have fashion edition is one of our biggest to date, featuring a wealth of exclusive content. The 116-page issue will be perfectly bound and on improved paper stock, creating a premium product for our advertisers and high-end audience.”

The launch of the refreshed ES Magazine will coincide with the celebration of the title’s 23rd season as an official sponsor of London Fashion Week, and, say the publishers, the only magazine available inside the official London Fashion Week venues. On Thursday, 18 February, the magazine will launch its dedicated fashion edition, featuring 116 pages of “vibrant, engaging content” packed with dedicated fashion news and exclusive interviews.
