The move supports the FT’s expansion in the US, a key strategic goal as the FT’s paying readership grows beyond one million, says the company.
The LA Times will also publish articles from the Financial Times’ Spanish service, which translates FT content for clients across Latin America.
“The LA Times shares our longstanding commitment to quality journalism,” said Peter Spiegel, FT US managing editor. “We are looking forward to working with them to bring the breadth of our world-class journalism to new readers on the west coast, and beyond."
“The FT’s global reporting and analysis is a welcome addition to our journalism,” LA Times Executive Editor Norman Pearlstine said. “Our audiences will benefit from an international perspective that complements our own in-depth coverage.”
The Financial Times has more than 100 syndication partnerships globally.
