Guardian appoints new non-executive director

Guardian Media Group (GMG) has appointed Jennifer Duvalier, executive vice president of people at ARM, as a non-executive director.

At ARM, the world’s leading semiconductor intellectual property supplier, Jennifer manages overall people strategy and activity – from HR services and reward, to talent and change management – and also contributes to the development and execution of group strategy.

Prior to taking on her present role in September 2013, Jennifer was group people and culture director for six years at UBM plc, a global events-led marketing and communications services business, and before this was group human resources director for an international media and marketing services group. Her earlier career was in management consultancy and banking.

Neil Berkett, chair of GMG, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jennifer to the GMG Board. Her experience delivering HR and people strategies for some of the world’s most innovative and fast-changing businesses will be a great asset to GMG. She brings a vital new perspective to the Board, putting us in an even stronger position as we continue our transformation into a global, digital-first organisation.”

Jennifer Duvalier, executive vice president of people at ARM, said: “I’m hugely excited to join GMG as it enters a period of unprecedented commercial growth, digital innovation, and editorial success. Having the right working culture and practices in place is going to be crucial as GMG continues its transformation, and I look forward to playing a part in that process.”
