Homes & Antiques publishes first interactive edition

The May edition of the vintage, heritage and interiors magazine, on sale now, includes a range of exclusive additional content that can be accessed by downloading a free app and pointing a smartphone or tablet at selected pages throughout the issue.

The interactive content offers readers the chance to give their own rooms the Homes & Antiques treatment and see their homes transformed into cover stars. After hovering the Blippar app over the cover and taking a photo of their room, an image will be generated that will feature the reader’s picture along with the magazine’s masthead, to create a cover that can be shared via Facebook, Twitter or email.

Interiors fans will also be able to go behind the scenes of this month’s decorating shoot and discover the art of display and how to use your most treasured possessions to add colour and impact to your rooms. Alongside a video showing how the shoot came together, readers will be able to watch stylist Kiera Buckley-Jones talking about her inspiration and view a further video of Marianne Shillingford, the Creative Director of Dulux, showing how to achieve one of the stunning paint effects that is showcased.

Marie Davies, Associate Publisher of Homes & Antiques, commented: “We are thrilled with our first interactive edition. We wanted to show our readers how they can easily create our looks in their own homes, and give them access to additional content in a fun and accessible format.”

Additional bonus content includes the opportunity to try out a collection of wallprints and a stencilled look on your own walls, as well as access to a gallery of unseen shots from the magazine’s Fair of the Month – the Dairy House Antique and Vintage Textile Fair in Dorset. Readers can also use their device to view in 360° this issue’s ‘Personal Shopper’ item – a stunning Czech vase that has been handpicked by the doyenne of antiques, Judith Miller, and is available to win, say the publishers.
