IPC restructures trading teams

IPC Media has announced a major restructure of IPC Advertising which will see the creation of a new centralised print trading team and a new Creative Solutions service to deliver best-in-class bespoke advertising for its commercial partners.

The restructure precedes further announcements planned for later in the spring.

IPC Weeklies Group Advertising Director Kate Mackenzie (pictured) has been promoted to the new role of IPC Advertising Trading Director, reporting to IPC Advertising Managing Director Charlie Meredith. She will oversee a unified print trading team who will service agencies and clients wishing to advertise through IPC’s wide portfolio of brands, which offer unrivalled reach into mass market women, upmarket women and young men.

Charlie Meredith says: “This restructure of our divisional trading units into one trading team selling key audiences makes absolute sense. We are aligning our trading practices more closely and driving the effectiveness and co-ordination of our trading sell to best meet the needs of our agency partners. And Kate Mackenzie, with her unparalleled trading experience, is the perfect person to lead the new team.”

Meanwhile, IPC Weeklies acting Group Advertising Director Matt Downs (pictured) has been promoted to the new role of Creative Solutions Director, also reporting to Charlie. He will oversee the new Creative Solutions service, developing best-in-class 360-degree multi-platform solutions, targeting IPC’s audiences through its trusted brands.

Charlie adds: “Clients are quite rightly demanding truly integrated, creative and innovative solutions that seamlessly utilise a myriad of channels. Matt – with his broad experience of monthlies, weeklies and key accounts – has a keen understanding of our partners’ needs, and the potential of our brands and platforms to deliver.”

Meanwhile Alex Russell, Group Advertising Director of IPC Southbank, will continue to drive the “exceptional performance” of Southbank’s fashion and lifestyle portfolio, developing further the Southbank brands’ strong client and specialist agency relationships. Alex reports to IPC Southbank Managing Director Jackie Newcombe.

Ian Tournes, currently Group Trading Director, changes his title to Corporate Advertising Director to reflect his responsibilities as key liaison with the agencies and for strategic business development. He continues to report to Charlie Meredith.

The restructure takes immediate effect.
