Lucrezia Millarini to host Media Freedom Awards 2022
Lucrezia Millarini: "I am thrilled to be hosting this year's event which recognises such a huge range of talent within the industry, both in the UK and abroad.”

With more than 10 years live broadcast experience, Millarini presents ITV News London's flagship show and she has reported on the programme's RTS award-winning coverage of the Grenfell Tower fire and anchored ITV's breaking news coverage of the London Bridge terror attack, says the Society of Editors. Millarini studied law at Bristol and trained as a barrister before becoming a journalist and is a keen supporter of animal rights and backs various charities including the Cats Protection League, The Humane Society and PETA.

According to the Society of Editors, The Media Freedom Awards champagne reception, dinner and ceremony will take place on the evening of 9 November 2022 at the Globe Theatre in London. The headline sponsor for the awards is WeShop with additional support from Camelot, the Google News Initiative and Newsworks.

Lucrezia said: "I am thrilled to be hosting this year's event which recognises such a huge range of talent within the industry, both in the UK and abroad. With so many examples of exceptional journalism, from ground-breaking campaigns to special investigations, the short-list alone is a reminder of why press freedom must not only be protected but celebrated too. I am in awe of what my fellow members of the press have achieved in recent years, often operating in the most challenging circumstances.”
