Magazine Production Company wins new client

The Magazine Production Company has been appointed by Whaley Bridge-based CJ Publishing to undertake the design and production of two off-road motorcycle consumer titles.

They have also been appointed by MJS Publishing to rebrand its community directory to a local lifestyle magazine covering ten villages in and around Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

The Magazine Production Company claims to provide a functional cost-effective magazine design, production and print solution for micro publishers, independent publishers and overflow solutions for publishing houses.

According to Dean Cook (pictured), director, the company offers a fixed price-per-page solution which allows its clients to budget ahead with confidence. Current clients include titles from Professional Audio & Broadcasting to Aerospace as well as several Community Magazines.

Indeed Community Magazines is one of their growth areas, as the company has seen an increase of enquiries from many self-published community magazines wanting a more professional look.

Dean Cook says: “It seems that publishers are beginning to appreciate that investing in good design and quality relevant editorial can help increase advertising revenue and profitability. Community magazines are a cost-effective way for local businesses to reach local people.”

One example is Village Living, which delivers 10,000 magazines across several villages around Steyning in Sussex. The publisher, Melissa Love, operates her own website, writes and looks after advertising.

Dean Cook enlisted Melissa to assist another client who was in need of a functional website. She duplicated her site and rebranded it to also include an e-Zine version of the magazine. Dean and Melissa are looking to provide this opportunity as a combined solution to other like-minded publishers.

He said, “Our solution benefits the independent publisher taking into account the three areas of time, budget and quality to help increase revenue and profitability of the publication. Allowing us to concentrate on the design and production frees up more time for the client to concentrate driving their business forward.

“Our clients also enjoy the flexibility that our team offers. Not every magazine is the same so we will do all that we can to assist to ensure our clients‘ titles become successful. My team all each have at least 14 years commercial experience and am proud of their attention to detail in all areas of production, design and the technical side of the process.”
