Exclusive to the Motor Sport Database, say the publishers, is an innovative compare and contrast function for all Formula 1 drivers. The tool compares every driver’s statistics, and can be refined by year or circuit.
The Motor Sport Database includes race results from A1GP to the Yellow Pages British Formula Atlantic Championship via Formula 1, IndyCars and NASCAR. There are full results for senior championships; the history of others is currently detailed with race winners and champions.
As well as the huge number of results, the Motor Sport Database contains full written profiles of certain drivers’ careers.
The Database also draws content from the newly redesigned and improved Archive, which was launched in 2013. The Archive features every issue from the 92 years of Motor Sport magazine and has undergone a revamp to offer users an improved reading experience.
With the Database and Archive now so closely linked, says Motor Sport, you can go from reading up on Lewis Hamilton’s racing record to in-depth magazine articles about the three-time world champion in just one click!
Ed Foster, online editor of Motor Sport magazine, said: “While the database is ‘launched’ it is, and always will be, a work in progress with weekly updates, additional content and more series covered. It’s a very exciting time for Motor Sport.”
Gerard O’Brien, marketing director of Motor Sport magazine, said: “The Motor Sport Database is currently free to use and is a perfect fit for our ongoing digital content innovation, accompanying perfectly the fully searchable online Motor Sport Archive, covering 92 years of motor racing history.
“Our aim is to deliver an online experience that all motor sport fans around the world can enjoy and keep coming back to for more by offering a one-stop shop in motor sport content.”
