NetDoctor relaunches

Hearst Magazines UK has relaunched NetDoctor and appointed more than 20 high-profile, credible and trusted health professionals as contributors and ambassadors for the site.

The brand has also unveiled a dramatic new look and feel, to provide readers with health content that is as trustworthy as it is modern and engaging, says Hearst.

The new-look site will feature preventative healthcare and wellbeing features written by top doctors, health journalists, nutritionists and life coaches, aimed at helping readers take more control of their health. The new wellness side of the site will complement the diagnostic and medical articles.

NetDoctor’s high-profile contributors include:

* Dr Max Pemberton: NHS psychiatrist, weekly Daily Mail columnist, regular contributor to The Spectator and Editor of Spectator Health, a quarterly supplement from The Spectator

* Dr Ranj Singh: Successful NHS doctor, specialising in the care of children and young people. He is the co-creator and presenter of the pioneering CBeebies’ show Get Well Soon, and has a kids’ health segment on ITV’s This Morning

* Dr Dawn Harper: Leading media medic best known for her work on Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies and Born Naughty?

* Sally Bee: Nutritionist, food writer, campaigner, heart health ambassador and celebrity chef on ITV’s Lorraine.

The relaunch also sees a complete visual redesign, a new tone and editorial direction, plus a raft of new features such as the Health Checker Tool, which provides an assessment of an individual’s health and wellbeing. After submitting relevant information about themselves, their home, relationships, family and medical history, users will receive a current wellbeing score to see how healthy they really are. Users will also be given a target score to aim for, with a detailed personalised action plan suggesting small changes they can make to their daily routine to improve their overall wellbeing.

Taylor Anderson, Digital Editor, Health and Wellbeing at Hearst Magazines UK, says: “With an increasing number of people taking an active interest in healthy living and preventative treatments, we felt the time was right to relaunch NetDoctor. With the addition of more high-profile contributors and new healthy living features, we can now offer even more trusted health and wellbeing content that is modern, accessible and influential.”

Sharon Douglas, Group Publishing Director at Hearst Magazines UK, says: “Audiences want to consume content in ways which suit their lives. Our aim is to become indispensable to our audience and to help them to interact with NetDoctor. By extending the trusted position we have with our readers we are helping to build involved and engaged communities which not only benefits our audience but also our business partners.”
