Commenting on the 10p increase on the Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe and Holsworthy editions of the North Devon Journal, the NFRN's news operations committee chairman Alan Smith said: "In these economically challenging times it is good to see that Local World recognises the need to maintain pro rata terms for news retailers on its North Devon weekly newspaper and for that very reason I applaud them.
“I trust that moving forward it will become the norm for all Local World cover price increases to be accompanied by pro rata increases in terms.”
The price of all four editions of the North Devon Journal will rise to £1.10 from Thursday December 12.
