Newsquest Specialist Media launches Pensions Insight

Despite the global economic downturn, Newsquest Specialist Media is to launch a new trade monthly magazine into the financial services sector. Pensions Insight will be, it claims, the first significant new magazine for the UK pensions industry for 13 years.

The launch edition, in A4 format, publishes on April 3rd, 2009 and offers a circulation of 10,000 pension professionals and their advisers a new approach to staying informed, which sets it apart from other titles in the sector, claims the publishers. Combining authoritative analysis with new digests, its three key areas of focus are:

* A comprehensive review of the top pensions stories across a host of other media including trade press, newspapers, websites, regulators, trade bodies and consultancies

* Authoritative analysis of the key news events that matter to the pensions industry

* Insight into the impact of capital markets, politics and economics on pension schemes

Pensions Insight aims to help readers cut through the swathe of information overload and provide pensions professionals with a single point of reference.

Publishing alongside the magazine is the website www.pensions-insight.co.uk Also produced to help cut down the time spent on information gathering it will provide the headlines, news and top stories from hundreds of sources from the BBC to Pensions Regulator.

Tim Whitehouse, Managing Director of Newsquest Specialist Media, commented, "It is without doubt one of the most challenging times there has ever been to launch a business-to-business magazine into the UK financial services marketplace. However, the results of our research into the information need of the pensions industry, combined with the advance support and overwhelming positive feedback from advertisers, underline the fact that our decision to launch is the right one. Pensions Insight is a result of identifying a clear gap in the market and meeting that need."

Bob Campion, Editor of Pensions Insight said, "Recent research carried out by Newsquest Specialist Media, into the reading habits of pensions managers and their advisers revealed that the average pensions manager spends more than 30% of their day sifting through information sources. In the current financial crisis pensions professionals are going to be under more pressure that ever. They have good reason to welcome a new publication that will help get to grips quickly with the key issues – especially those around global economics."
