PPA publishes guide to selling partworks

The PPA has produced a downloadable guide to help independent retailers encourage their partworks sales.

Released to coincide with the numerous major partworks launches scheduled for the New Year, the guide sets out six practical steps that independent retailers can follow to achieve success with partworks sales.

It has been produced by the PPA's Partworks Committee, which includes representatives from major partworks publishers, and is available to download free from the PPA Retail channel of the PPA website.

Amy Scott, Head of Circulation at the PPA, said: “At around 10% of the total newsstand, partworks represent a big opportunity for retailers, and independents are crucial to the success of the sector as they account for more than half of all sales.

“With this guide, we're aiming to give independents a quick and simple reminder of how to maximise the opportunity going into the New Year, which will be a strong time for partworks sales.”

The partworks guide is the latest resource for independent retailers available from the PPA, which in 2014 will be launching an updated version of Making More Money from Magazines – an information pack about successfully managing the magazine category that is targeted at independent retailers and includes a best-practice planogram for magazine display.
