Q marks 300th issue with Adele exclusive

Q celebrates its landmark 300th issue with an exclusive Adele cover shoot and interview, the world's “newest and biggest music superstar”.

Under Editor-in-Chief Paul Rees, Q continues to shape and define UK music, with writing and photography of the highest quality and unparalleled access and insight connecting and engaging with audiences who want to 'Discover Great Music', say publishers Bauer Media.

Along with celebrating Adele with a coveted Q cover, the Q300 issue parades the very best of Q's outstanding photography to date featuring groundbreaking images of artists like Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Lily Allen, The White Stripes and The Killers.

With a foreword by Sir Paul McCartney, Q's first ever coverstar back in October 1986, Q300 will also showcase a stellar cast of names through its regular features: Rolling Stone Keith Richards unveils his Record Collection; Liam Gallagher divulges his Last Requests; Q shares A Round With John Lydon; and the Queen Of Country, Dolly Parton takes Cash For Questions.

In a commercial exclusive, the Q300 gatefold cover has been booked by Live Nation with three pages of original artwork designed to promote their forthcoming series of gigs in Hyde Park this summer. Q300 also features new-to-Q consumer advertisers in Nissan, Paul Smith fragrances, Mini, Peugeot, Microsoft and Tiger Beer.

Paul Rees commented: "At Q we continue to believe that music is as exciting now as it's ever been and our most essential service to be that of discovering great music. The Adele exclusive provides the definitive perspective on music's newest superstar - replete with Rankin's outstanding images. It is a landmark issue that crystallises all that is, has been and will continue to be great about Q."

Rimi Atwal, Publishing Director of Bauer Media's Music Brands, added: "To have Q300 fronted by Adele, the reigning queen of contemporary music, is a world-class example of an influential magazine able to attract the biggest names as well as break new artists. It's an outstanding issue that truly captures and defines everything Q has stood and will continue to stand for in delivering audiences a trusted brand from where to 'Discover Great Music'."

Earlier this month, Bauer Media unveiled a brand new, in-depth piece of music consumer research - Phoenix IV - the fourth wave of our proprietary music study on the changing face of music consumption which has become widely recognized as a unique and expert body of insight into the behaviours and inspirations of music consumers.

The June issue - Q's 300th - goes on sale Wed 25th May 2011.
