Sally Eyden appointed Editor of Now

IPC Connect publishing director Sandy Gale has announced the appointment of Sally Eyden as editor of celebrity weekly, Now.

Currently editor of the News of the World’s celebrity and style magazine Fabulous, Sally (pictured) has a wealth of experience in celebrity and entertainment, taking high profile senior roles across both consumer magazines and newspapers.

Starting her career in papers, after a successful stint at the Daily Express, Sally was named entertainment editor of Night and Day, the Mail on Sunday supplement.

Moving to join the launch team at celebrity weekly Reveal, she spent two years as celebrity editor, forging strong relationships with celebrity PRs and delivering high profile exclusive stories. After working on a number of magazine projects, Sally was then headhunted by the Daily Mirror as assistant features editor in charge of showbiz interviews, regularly beating rivals to must-have A-list TV and Hollywood interviews.

In 2007 Sally took up the role of deputy editor on new launch Fabulous, and was promoted to editor ten months later. During her time on the magazine, Sally has delivered a string of high profile exclusive celebrity interviews and cover shoots. She was shortlisted at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards last year.

Sandy says:  “Sally brings with her a brilliant track record in celebrity, and the contacts book to match! Our readers attach huge value to the celebrity access, in-depth analysis and trusted opinion Now delivers every week – it’s why they are prepared to pay a premium price for the magazine. I can’t think of an editor better equipped to lead the brand’s fantastic team on to further success.”

Sally adds: “There aren’t many jobs in the magazine industry as big as editing a brand like Now. I am thrilled to be joining the team and I’m looking forward to the challenge of editing a magazine with such unparalleled heritage, trust and reader loyalty on the UK newsstand.”

Sally takes up her new role in February next year.
