The parenting and green lifestyle magazine published by Green Parent Media Ltd covers topics from home-education, natural birth, alternative health and mindfulness with a core ethical message of raising eco conscious children.
“We wanted to do something special for the design of our 100th issue by using colour, a cleaner layout and modern fonts to make the magazine more visible on the newsstand. We have also refined the parenting and lifestyle sections to enable easier navigation. The parenting section focuses on all ages and stages of childhood from birth right through to teens and the lifestyle sections cover Wellbeing, Home, Food and Travel”, says art director Jez Harris.
The publishers say they have seen a surge of interest for The Green Parent during the pandemic, with increased subscriptions, web and social media engagement. “With more mums and dads having to home-educate over the last year and with an ever increasing focus on the environment, we felt that we could use our 17 years of experience in these topics to support parents with ideas and projects in the magazine, weekly newsletters and Instagram Live videos to go deeper into the content. With many other similar titles disappearing from the newsstand we felt this is a great opportunity to shift the focus of what a parenting title should be about. Ultimately we all want our children to grow up happy, healthy and to tread lightly on the earth and The Green Parent can help with every aspect of that.”
Green Parent Media is donating a percentage of sales of this issue to support five birthing charities, Association for Improvements in the Maternity Services, Association of Radical Midwives, Birthrights, Doulas Without Borders and Project Mama.
This issue can be found in whole food stores, WH Smith and select branches of Tesco and Sainsbury’s from 17th March, and is also available digitally through Exact Editions and Readly.
