A total of 18 companies have been shortlisted for The Stationers’ Company Innovation Excellence Awards 2023, says the organisation.
The awards are in their 9th year and were established to recognise innovation within the communications and content industries. The Awards were founded in 2014 and are sponsored by PICON and Mathys and Squire.
The Stationers’ Company says the awards have been judged by a distinguished panel of nine, co-chaired by court assistants Linda Drew, former VC of Ravensbourne University London, and Jill Jones, former MD of McGraw Hill EMEA. Judges reviewed applications from novel products, services and business processes with a positive financial and ESG impact, on customers and on the environment.
Winners will be selected from each of the six categories; Business Process, Communications Including Marketing, Customer Experience, Product Design, Service Development and Start-up.
The six category winners, plus the recipient of the Overall Innovator of the Year Award will be announced at an Awards luncheon at the historic Stationers’ Hall in the City of London, on Monday, 25 September 2023. The beautiful Hall – one of the oldest Livery Company Halls - celebrates its 350th year in 2023 and reopened post-Covid with a significant refurbishment.
The Awards lunch will be preceded by an exhibition of shortlisted companies and 2022 winners’ innovations, with a champagne reception. Tony Mash, Master of the Stationers’ Company, said: “The range and quality of innovations entered for the Awards continues to delight, and is testimony to the resilience of our industries, especially given the additional challenges facing businesses over the last couple of years.
“The Stationers’ Company has formally recognised innovative developments for nine years now. Our rigorous judging process evaluates approaches to delivering innovation, and the shortlisted nominees come from a range of large corporates, SMEs and start-ups. I congratulate them all on reaching the shortlist, and wish them the very best of luck.”
