The CMA’s current MD, Clare Hill, is stepping down from the business at the end of April to join Cannes Lions as Director of Marketing & Brand.
Maskell will start her new role on May 8th. Having previously worked across both consumer and b2b brands, from fashion, homeware and financial services, Catherine’s tenure as Head of Global Marketing at REED recruitment led to two CMA awards in 2015. With her heritage in brands, she aims to bring agencies and brands closer together to meet the growing demand for content in a digital age.
Matt Adams, CEO of Havas Media and Chairman of The CMA said: “Catherine has been a huge supporter of the CMA and our mission to drive the content marketing industry forwards over the last few years, so her appointment is a great moment for us. Her wide-ranging experience within the marketing industry will allow her to build on our leadership, shaping content marketing and the issues that matter to its community. I would like to personally thank Clare for the work she has done in exponentially growing the CMA and developing a new value proposition, making it almost unrecognisable from when she took over four years ago, and wish her all the best in her new role.”
Catherine Maskell said: “I have an unwavering belief in the power of content marketing and have loved working with Matt, Clare and the wider team as a member of the CMA. Taking up the MD position is an exciting next step for me and I’m really looking forward to continuing Clare’s great work in leading the content marketing industry.”
Clare Hill, said: “I have enjoyed the past four years immensely and my time at the CMA has been transformative for me personally. I’m delighted to be passing the role on to Catherine – her first-hand experience of the CMA as a member means she truly understands its goals and I have no doubt that she will do great things.”
