Expressen goes live with Lineup Systems’ AdPoint

Lineup Systems’ web based advertising sales and management system AdPoint has successfully launched at the major Swedish newspaper Expressen.

Expressen is one of Sweden’s largest daily newspapers with a circulation of over 270,000, first printed by the Bonnier media group in 1944. The new AdPoint advertising system will boost Expressen’s significant advertising business across its daily newspaper plus several magazine titles by delivering more powerful, intuitive and flexible ad management tools than the legacy advertising system that it replaced, says Lineup Systems.

The deployment enables Expressen’s management to generate an array of instant activity reports based on real-time sales data, giving them an unprecedented insight into business performance. AdPoint features that were crucial for Expressen include module and ratio based pricing, extended tools that allow executives to calculate complicated commission allocations and pre-defined customer profile groups that are easier to use and reduce errors.

Significant benefit has been delivered through AdPoint’s interaction with 3rd party software. Specifically, AdPoint integrates with Laidback Solutions’ Cargo ad portal, where advertising materials are received and the ad production workflow takes place. The status and a preview of the ad are generated automatically and sent back to AdPoint.

AdPoint also integrates with Whiteboard, an integrated flat planning tool in the editorial system Newspilot from Infomaker. Taking ad information from Adpoint and ad previews from Cargo, the flexible integration gives the user a native flat planning experience. Furthermore, AdPoint integrates with Unite 4's Agresso system for invoicing. Altogether, says Lineup Systems, the new operation using AdPoint is faster, more secure, less wasteful and lower cost.

Peter Frey, CIO at Expressen, commented: “It was critical for us to implement an advertising system that was focused on maximising ad sales opportunities whilst integrating seamlessly with our existing production and financial systems. AdPoint’s scalability and versatility has helped to transform our publishing operations quickly and smoothly”.

Michael Mendoza, CEO of Lineup, said: “This is an important step for Lineup in the Swedish market. AdPoint is purpose-built for fast moving, forward-looking media businesses like Expressen who pursue quality and competitiveness in the tough publishing industry. I’m confident that Expressen will see a huge difference between the performance of their previous system and AdPoint. It’s going to deliver a much more enjoyable user experience with lower operating costs and better performance.”
