Haymarket relocates UK headquarters to Twickenham

Haymarket Media Group is to relocate its UK business to Twickenham and will move 1000 employees from its current base in Teddington before the end of the year.

The group is relocating its UK headquarters to Bridge House, a four-floor 34,000 sq ft office on London Road, after 10 years at Teddington Studios. This will be supported by an additional space at nearby Premier House, with Haymarket’s consumer, business, exhibitions and customer media operations all based in Twickenham.

Haymarket’s automotive and motorsport photo agency, LAT Photographic, will relocate to a new office at Vector Park in Feltham. The 9000 sq foot space will include two additional floors of workspace and a photographic studio, serving as a satellite office for the company’s automotive content team to enhance its car review content.

Haymarket agreed the sale of Teddington Studios earlier this year, the proceeds of which were used to further reduce the company’s debt to help focus on investment in new products and platforms.

The group has been working with workspace consultancy, Spacelab, on the design of the new offices to create a more creative and adaptable workspace that better suits the needs of colleagues in a dynamic, multi-platform media environment, says Haymarket.

Haymarket Media Group CEO Kevin Costello said: “Our relocation to Twickenham represents an exciting new chapter for our UK business. Following the sale of Teddington Studios, we are primed for investment and the relocation to new premises has given us the opportunity to create a new working environment, better suited to the requirements of a modern day media company. Haymarket has a proud history in the borough of Richmond and we have exciting plans for the future, including an innovative new tech hub on the Richmond Education and Enterprise Campus.”

Dr Tania Mathias, MP for Twickenham said: “Haymarket's relocation accentuates that central Twickenham is changing for the better. As the area regenerates, I believe Haymarket will be a magnet for digital businesses. The development of the Richmond Education and Enterprise Campus is also incredibly positive: by reaching out and sharing their expertise, businesses like Haymarket will strengthen our community."

Haymarket is a founding partner of the Richmond Education and Enterprise Campus, a college of further education working in partnership with local employers. The plans include a state-of-the-art “tech hub,” comprising digital labs, photographic studios and a media incubator that will see Haymarket provide seed funding investment to bright young entrepreneurs and startups.

Haymarket has a total of 13 offices worldwide. Last year, the company opened its first central London office on Berners Street, in the heart of the West End.
