i100 drives digital audience drives growth for Independent

The Independent has announced “all-time” highs for independent.co.uk – including almost 2m unique browsers for i100 in its first month.

According to The Independent, the August ABCs show:

* i100 achieved an extraordinary 1.9M unique browsers in august, its first full month

* Audited within the overall independent.co.uk figures, i100 has taken The Independent to new highs for Global and UK audience:

* Global unique visitors for independent.co.uk +66.1% year on year and +3.5% on July

* Global average daily unique visitors +64% year on year and +3.4% month on month

* UK unique visitors +45.9% year on year and +10% month on month

* August saw a record 88.7M page impressions in the UK, and 175.4M globally

* An exceptionally high number of users, 25.5M, accessed the site via a mobile device during August. This accounted for over half (55.7%) of all users, generating 41% of the total page views, equating to a staggering 68.9M.

"i100 has burst out of the blocks and on to social media at an inspirational pace," says Christian Broughton, Digital Editor of The Independent, including independent.co.uk and i100.co.uk. "We knew we wanted to hit at least 500,000 unique browsers, and for a boldly different online brand, some cautioned that this target was extremely ambitious. In the event, we have very nearly quadrupled that figure.
