IMechE outsources to Caspian

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) has outsourced the magazine and web publishing activities of its publishing subsidiary, Professional Engineering Publishing (PEP), to Caspian Publishing.

Caspian will be responsible for all editorial, advertisement sales, design and production of the magazines and websites owned by PEP. These include the IMechE’s flagship title Professional Engineering, as well as automotive engineering publication, Automotive Engineer, and the recently launched recruitment website www.topengineeringjobs.com. The staff of PEP will move to Caspian’s premises on King’s Road, Chelsea.

“Working with Caspian enables us to take our publications onto a new level,” said Jacki Heppard, PEP Managing Director and IMechE Commercial Director. “Our titles will flourish within a high-quality B2B publishing environment. This is a significant step forward for the IMechE.”

“Caspian has a long tradition of working with professional institutions and membership bodies,” said Stuart Rock, a founder and the editorial director of Caspian, “and the IMechE is one of the most prestigious and influential.

“This is a long-term partnership that will enhance the talent and capabilities of both organisations. There is fabulous growth potential for all aspects of PEP’s business. We have already got several big new plans in the pipeline to exploit this potential.”
