IPC restructures Equestrian portfolio

A restructure of IPC Media’s Equestrian editorial team was announced on Friday.

The move will see current brand development editor Sarah Jenkins appointed to the new role of content director, responsible for developing content for both current and emerging platforms, as well as leading the editorial team in evolving new commercial initiatives.

Publishing director Oswin Grady says: "Creating a truly multi-platform team that can seamlessly create and repurpose high-quality content for the audiences we serve is at the heart of this restructure. Sarah's in-depth knowledge of equestrianism and her ability to quickly identify and exploit new commercial openings make her the ideal person to lead this initiative.”

Sarah adds: "Horse & Hound is a gift of a brand with huge scope to offer even more to its impassioned audience, on numerous platforms and through myriad initiatives. With so many talented individuals on our team, we have the ability to deliver all of this to the same high standard we have achieved for 130 years with the magazine — I’m thrilled to have the chance to lead that opportunity.”

In a separate move, Horse & Hound editor Lucy Higginson has decided to pursue other opportunities and will be leaving IPC Media in the summer.

Lucy says: “It’s been wonderful to lead this iconic brand through its evolution into a cross-platform brand communicating with 204,000 print readers and over a million digital users. But editing a weekly precludes so many other opportunities and I am excited finally to be able to tackle some of these. I wish the outstanding H&H team the very best of luck for the future."

Oswin adds: "I would like to thank Lucy for the fantastic contribution she has made to Horse & Hound. She has been an outstanding editor whose flair for the subject and eye for detail have added greatly to the brand's rich tradition. I wish her the very best in the next phase of her career."
