Maney to publish Yorkshire Archaeological Society journal

Maney Publishing has announced a new publishing agreement with the Yorkshire Archaeological Society (YAS) to publish their Journal from 2011.

The Yorkshire Archaeological Journal was first published in 1869 to further the aim of the Society in promoting interest in the history and archaeology of the county. Maney has printed the journal for the Society in previous years.

Sylvia Thomas, President of the YAS, looks forward to “wider circulation of the work of the Society. Maney provides a good home for the Journal as we have known the staff there over a number of years, and are impressed with the level of service in all aspects of journal publishing they offer, with particular strengths in archaeology and history.”

Liz Rosindale, Humanities Publishing Manager at Maney, commented: “We are very pleased to extend the relationship with the Yorkshire Archaeological Society to publish such a respected and well-established title. Over its 141 years of publication the Journal has published research by the leading scholars in the history and archaeology of Yorkshire, and we look forward to cultivating new submissions and a wider readership through publication of the journal in electronic format online.”
