Graham Brownett, Manor Creative’s CEO, explains: “Achieving this internationally recognised environmental standard is testament to our working ethos and green values as an organisation. Much of the work for this project involved documenting evidence of our already streamlined and quality-focused working practices. This award recognises our commitment as commercial printers to minimising our impact on the environment and adds value to our proposition where not only quality of service, but also green credentials count.
“With many of our customers taking advantage of our Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) accreditations to send an environmental message to their stakeholders, we believe this new accreditation will help Manor Creative to continue to grow its business.
“We are proud to reach this milestone, but we will not stop at achieving ISO 14001 accreditation as we are committed to continuous improvement and environmental responsibility.”
Following an MBO in 2007, the company, which announced its Manor Earth sustainable business pledge in 2007, has 49 staff and close to a £4m turnover. It achieved carbon neutral status early in 2008 and was awarded FSC & PEFC accreditation later that year. It recently installed an environmentally efficient top of the range digital press, the Xerox iGen4, using non-toxic dry inks and 97 per cent of its components being recyclable.
