Marketforce announces new distribution contracts

Marketforce (UK) Ltd, one of the leading magazine distributors in the UK, has awarded new five year contracts for the distribution of its portfolio of titles in the UK to Menzies Distribution and Smiths News.

The new distribution arrangements commence 1 January 2010, with a retail sales value in excess of £450m per year, says Marketforce.

Marketforce managing director, Stephen Hirst comments: “In concluding our contract negotiations, our overriding objective has been to ensure a sustainable route to market for our clients’ titles while ensuring retailers receive the highest service possible.”

“Unfortunately we have been unable to award Dawson News a new contract for our business. We would like to thank them for their support and commitment during our long association.”

“We now look forward to working with Smiths News and Menzies to achieve a smooth transition to our new distribution footprint and to continue our work with retailers to drive sales growth in the magazine category.”
