Pete Fergusson: “Sachini has a track record of creative and commercial success and her creativity, drive and passion for great storytelling will be a huge asset.”

Nemorin Film & Video, the branded video agency owned by global production group Argonon with an international client roster of nearly 50 brands including McDonald’s, American Express and Expedia, has announced the appointment of multi-awarding winning Sachini Imbuldeniya as executive creative director in a newly created role.

The move forms part of parent group Argonon’s continued investment in branded, digital and IP, following a recent move into podcasts and the launch of YouTube website Element 18, which the company says has surpassed 20,000 subscribers since launch.

Sachini, founder of inclusive photography and illustration agency Studio PI, joined Nemorin from News UK’s Bridge Studio on January 4th, and will report into Nemorin’s founder and CEO Pete Fergusson to oversee the expansion of creative operations as part of the agency’s growth plans for 2023.

Sachini has a long-standing reputation for creative innovation, having helped secured multiple industry awards for Bridge Studio, delivering triple-digit revenue growth during her seven-year tenure, says the company. She also produced the short film ‘You Clap For Me Now’ which amassed over 300 million views worldwide and was selected by the United Nations as its official message of hope and solidarity during the pandemic.

On a mission to make the industry more diverse, Sachini founded the artist agency Studio PI in 2020 to represent talent from the four most underrepresented groups: women, people of colour, those living with disabilities and individuals from working class backgrounds. The agency has a roster of over twenty artists that have produced work for a wide range of clients including Adidas, Farfetch, Net-A-Porter, Vanity Fair, Soho House, Google, Lush, Boodles, The New York Times, Calvin Klein, Puma and Budweiser.

Nemorin CEO Pete Fergusson said: “Backed by the power of global production group Argonon, Nemorin is gearing up for the next phase of strategic growth as we look to capitalise on the unquenchable demand for premium branded content across global markets. Sachini has a track record of creative and commercial success and her creativity, drive and passion for great storytelling will be a huge asset to Nemorin and our brand partners across the world. Nemorin’s unique position at the heart of Argonon offers unrivalled opportunities to both partner with world class creatives and connect with global networks, and we look forward to building on our success of 2022 in delivering nearly 100 brand projects.”

Sachini commented: “I’m really excited to take up this appointment at Nemorin as the agency’s values align with my own. Nemorin is determined to challenge the status quo, with brilliant creative at the heart of everything they do, underpinning all of their client work. I’m looking forward to helping them deliver bold and innovative ideas that will move the agency in a radically new direction.”

Nemorin is part of independent global production group Argonon, whose labels produce hundreds of hours of TV and audio content every year including The Masked Singer UK (Bandicoot Scotland for ITV1), Attenborough and the Mammoth Graveyard (Windfall Films for BBC One), Hard Cell (Leopard Pictures for Netflix), Dispatches (BriteSpark Films for Channel 4) and Forbidden History (Like a Shot podcast).
