New business wins for Rhapsody

Rhapsody - the new pre-media business, unveiled in November 2011, has kicked off 2012 with a series of new business wins.

The company's proprietary software Emagine, which facilitates seamless content workflow management across multiple channels and dramatic cost savings, is proving to be a formidable force, with 30, visually lead books commissioned for 2012 already, says the company.

"We find most clients reduce costs by around 20% if they utilise Emagine. Our publishing applications enable users to plan, populate and deliver creative content anywhere, in any language, 24/7. For clients wanting to dramatically uplift content output overall but who don't have the in-house resources, we can introduce greater savings - reducing outlay by as much as 70%," explains Rhapsody MD Les Pipe (pictured).

New business wins since Rhapsody was unveiled as a merger between Wyndeham Pre-Press and sister creative agency Masterpiece, include: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee book from ILN and an iPad app for Springboard Magazine from PSP Rare. Additional business from the book sector include high end, illustrated books in fashion, the arts and culture. Emagine users alone are up by more than a quarter, year on year.

Publishers Thames & Hudson, which has recently commissioned Rhapsody for some new book titles, explains the benefits: “Working closely with Rhapsody means we achieve excellent colour results, and there are real cost and efficiency savings to be had by using their unique online systems. We really appreciate their quick and responsive service and working with their skilled technicians,” says Neil Palfreyman, Production Director at Thames & Hudson.

The wins join Rhapsody’s client list, which includes leading consumer magazine publisher IPC and mail order business Boden.

"We're finding more and more clients want the flexibility and control of using Emagine to manage content across all mediums. From print and e-magazines; flawless image production to apps, we orchestrate content management, production and creative agency services with precision control at every stage.

"We're very proud that in 2011 our team will post a pre tax profit of 300% year on year and we've been able to invest in the business and our service. We've uplifted our head count by 12% and to reflect our commitment and focus on new media, we have a New Media Director in Greg Feltham. We're very excited about 2012," ends Rhapsody MD Pipe.

Emagine can seamlessly integrate with in-house publishing systems and a new Emagine production reporting service maximises process and budget efficiencies, says Rhapsody.
