Caralyn Duignan, Regional Academic Account Manager, LexisNexis, accepted the award on behalf of New Law Journal editor Jan Miller from BIALL President David Wills at the Association’s annual dinner at the Gateshead Newcastle Hilton on Friday, 17 June 2011.
The Legal Journals Award was established in 2001 by BIALL's Legal Information Group to recognize and reward excellence in legal serials publishing, promote awareness of outstanding products, encourage quality and set industry standards. A total of 14 legal publications were nominated for this year’s award.
Reflecting the thoughts and deliberations of the judging panel for this award, BIALL Council Member Loyita Worley, Senior Manager, Library Operations, Reed Smith LLP said: “New Law Journal is a popular and highly esteemed title within the legal profession and covers all areas of law. Its well-written, informed content is up-to-date, topical and clearly presented. In addition, it is accompanied by a website that is easily searchable, providing added content.”
Jan Miller, NLJ editor, commented: “To be recognised for the work we are doing in the challenging times that lawyers face is particularly gratifying. NLJ aims to highlight all the changes, views and issues that confront the legal services market.
