Shortlist Media boosts commercial team

Shortlist Media yesterday announced the appointment of Owen Wyatt, Head of UK Advertising Sales at CNN International, to the role of Managing Director, Commercial.

Bolstering the publisher’s senior leadership team, Owen will help drive its ambitious commercial growth, starting in his new role in March.

Owen will take the lead on all commercial activities and digital operations, spearheading the strategic commercial direction across Shortlist Media’s business. He will report directly to Ella Dolphin, CEO at Shortlist Media, and join the ShortList Media Board of Directors.

A specialist in the development of content strategies as well as commercialising video content for media organisations, Owen played a key role in transforming CNN International’s content sales business and reinvigorated it’s positioning to the UK advertising market, says Shortlist. Owen joined CNN from Base79, one of the industry’s first YouTube multi-channel networks, where as Head of Content he signed major partnerships and built branded channels in the sports, music and entertainment verticals. Prior to this, Owen was Head of Video at Reuters, nurturing commercial partnerships and defining the overall commercial and product strategy for the business.

Owen’s appointment follows the recent announcement of Sophie Robinson as chief marketing officer at Shortlist Media, joining from her former role as creative director at Metro.
