St Ives chosen by National Trust

St Ives Web (part of St Ives plc) was chosen to print National Trust annual handbook and tri-annual magazine with a combined annual print run of over 8 million copies. The 3-year contract was won in a retender for the work.

“The annual handbook delivers in distilled printed form, the essence of our promise to members,” explains Graham Prichard, Print and Production Manager, National Trust. “It takes ten months to compile and is designed to encourage existing members to visit one of the 400 plus featured places. It is also used as a part of our sales package, designed to encourage membership. As such, it is important that the quality of finished product, matches the quality of the content and the effort that has gone into creating this eagerly awaited publication. Equally, the magazine competes with an ever-increasing range of reading matter in our members’ lives and this product must also be of a very high standard.

St Ives delivers the high quality print and service we require for these important products, while still maintaining a long term competitive price. In addition, the entire production process is well managed, even when logistical challenges arise. They are an environmentally conscious supplier and, as a financially strong organisation, St Ives provides the security, capacity and service for a sustainable partnership with the National Trust.”

St Ives Web has achieved Chain of Custody (CoC) certification to FSC & PEFC, and ISO14001: 2004 accreditation, as part of the business’ environmental initiatives. The National Trust handbook is printed at St Ives Web’s Peterborough site and the magazine is printed at Roche, both on the business’ MAN Roland Lithoman IV presses and on 100% recycled paper, post consumer waste.

Chris Davis, Sales Director, St Ives Web concludes, “We have been working with the National Trust for over 20 years now. I think the success of this long-standing partnership is due to our proactive and transparent approach to customer service and the ability to deliver the finished products on time, and to the required high standard. We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this contract again, and look forward to producing the National Trust’s highly regarded handbook and magazine.”
