Telegraph announces relaunch of QP Magazine

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has announced it is to relaunch QP Magazine and expand the related SalonQP fine watch event, following TMG’s acquisition of the brand last year.

The refreshed QP Magazine is set to be published in May with a new design and format, as well as editorial from the best watch writers in the industry. Last year’s SalonQP, the first under TMG's ownership, attracted 6,000 visitors. Building on the success enjoyed in 2013, the luxury watch event has confirmed its return to the Saatchi Gallery this November.

The relaunch of QP Magazine will be followed by a redesign of the salonqp.com website in the autumn which will serve as the primary portal for all QP's digital, social and event content.

Reinforcing its commitment to the brand, TMG has also announced a restructure of QP's leadership team. Carley Ayres, Publishing Director, Luxury at TMG takes the QP project into her portfolio and James Gurney becomes Editor-in-chief and Director of QP Magazine, set to further develop QP’s global business opportunities. Timothy Barber, recently appointed Editor, holds responsibility across all QP's publishing platforms and Lucy Cheesewright has been appointed Magazine and Events Sales Manager.

Carley Ayres, Publishing Director, Luxury, TMG said: “Since its launch in 2003, QP has become one of the most widely read watch magazines in the world and we have been working hard to build on that success. It fits perfectly into The Telegraph's expanding luxury stable. In addition SalonQP attracts a global audience from the watch industry and the 2014 event will have the most prestigious line-up of exhibitors yet and an enhanced consumer experience."

James Gurney, Editor-in-Chief and Director, QP Magazine, said: “We are building on QP's long-standing authority and uniquely British take on a global luxury business. The magazine will have a more accessible, cultured and contemporary feel and we are thrilled to be expanding the brand and working closely with TMG.”

QP will remain a separate business within TMG but will work closely with other Telegraph titles, allowing both QP and TMG access to each company’s expertise.

The luxury watch event sees over 70 leading watch brands exhibiting, from established brands such as Jaeger-LeCoutre and TAG Heuer to boutique independents such as Urwerk. TMG was SalonQP's media partner for four years before its acquisition of the company in 2013.
