The Press and Journal launches new business supplement

The Press and Journal has launched a new supplement, thebusiness. The monthly section will be distributed as part of The Press and Journal from Monday 16th June 2014.

It will complement the newspaper’s other monthly business-focused supplement, Energy.

thebusiness Editor Ryan Crighton explains, “The north and north-east of Scotland is an economic powerhouse and of great importance to both the Scottish and UK economies.

“This supplement is aimed at the diverse business community in this area that may not be directly involved in oil and gas and the renewables sector.”

thebusiness will have monthly columns from three of Scotland’s top businessmen – Martin Gilbert of Aberdeen Asset management, Harvey Aberdein of law firm Aberdein Considine and Alan Savage of Orion Group.

The supplement will include regular features on food and drink, tourism, law, finance, IT, life sciences and many other industries. Every issue Ryan Crighton will also speak exclusively to three chief executives in ‘The Lunch’.

The Press and Journal Editor-in-Chief Damian Bates said, “The Press and Journal is Scotland’s best-selling daily with a strong readership amongst businesses and key influencers in the North of Scotland.

“We already have an Energy supplement which caters specifically for the oil and gas sectors and we felt that it was time to carry a supplement catering for every industry. thebusiness will focus on the latest news and enterprise across The Press and Journal’s circulation area.”
