Wallpaper* readers to design their own cover

Wallpaper*, the international design, fashion and lifestyle magazine, is giving readers the chance to play art director and custom-make their own cover for the magazine’s August Handmade issue.

Media partner Rolex is also allowing readers to customise its ad on the back cover.

Readers who register will have access to an online cover application, which they will use to create their own masterpiece. They will be able to select and manipulate a wide selection of images, graphics and patterns supplied by creative luminaries James Joyce, Nigel Robinson, Anthony Burrill and Kam Tang.

Editor-in-chief Tony Chambers says: “Wallpaper* readers are a very creative bunch and they are going to love this. After all, they’ll be joining the ranks of Philippe Starck, Zaha Hadid, Anish Kapoor and Karl Lagerfeld – all of whom are previous Wallpaper* cover artists.”

Each reader’s cover will front their own copy of the Wallpaper* Handmade special issue, which is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of bespoke design. For the back cover, media partner Rolex is inviting readers’ artistic direction, offering nine different Rolex advertising creatives to complete the personalised issue.

Wallpaper* publishing director Gord Ray says: “Wallpaper* always strives to push boundaries and create themed issues that excite our readers and advertisers. This is going to be a very special issue and the bespoke covers we’re offering in association with Rolex will have everyone talking.”

Both subscribers and non-subscribers can design their bespoke covers by registering now at www.wallpaper.com.

The August issue goes on sale 8 July.
