AdvantageCS launches Cider Plus
Dan Heffernan: “This is a major step forward for our eCommerce offering, enabling our clients to run their web stores and user portals on the latest technology, which performs extremely well and extends to marketer’s better tools."

AdvantageCS says Cider Plus brings a host of new features and improvements, offering greater flexibility, customization, and performance for eCommerce websites.

One of the highlights of Cider Plus, the company added, is its enhanced flexibility, allowing users to hyper-customize their eCommerce website faster and easier than ever before. The solution enables shaping of the Cider site to fit specific needs while maintaining core integration with Advantage and clean solution architecture. This flexibility extends to features that influence the customer’s shopping experience, such as the shopping cart, product content, order checkout, promotional landing pages, and self-service features.

Cider Plus introduces new mobile-first themes that make products stand out and entices customers to buy. AdvantageCS has rejuvenated its standard theming with vibrant new themes that provide a fresh and modern look for eCommerce websites.

Cider Plus is built on top of Orchard Core CMS, an optimized, scalable, and open-source CMS that brings the latest technologies and improved performance and security. AdvantageCS has made technical switches including moving from LESS to SASS for CSS, running Bootstrap 5, and adding support for Linux in the server-side stack.

AdvantageCS continued, the developer experience has been improved with Cider Plus, now running on .NET (formerly .NET Core), making it easier to work with and maintain the platform. Cider Plus ships as a set of NuGet packages, making it convenient for developers to write custom code and themes.

AdvantageCS has implemented pre-built plug-ins for Cider Plus, including Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. Cider Plus also supports a comprehensive tracking policy framework, addressing global concerns around first-party data and privacy.

To deliver Cider Plus changes faster with higher quality, AdvantageCS has revamped its internal development teams and quality assurance tools and processes, ensuring technical resources are always available when needed.

Another new feature of Cider Plus, the company added, is its streamlined installation processes. Users can now easily set up Cider Plus with just a single click, eliminating the need for developers. This makes tasks such as internal testing, demonstrations, trials, and multi-brand, multi-tenant approaches straightforward and efficient.

Dan Heffernan, vice president & chief product manager of AdvantageCS said, “This is a major step forward for our eCommerce offering, enabling our clients to run their web stores and user portals on the latest technology, which performs extremely well and extends to marketer’s better tools for taking their ideas to market. We hope all our clients will migrate to Cider Plus soon to take advantage of these huge improvements.”
