Forbes Announces New Editorial Appointments

Forbes has announced four new appointments in its editorial department.

The appointments include Miguel Helft, who will join as San Francisco Bureau Chief; Loren Feldman, who will serve as Senior Editor of Forbes’ entrepreneurs’ coverage; Josh Robinson, who will assume the new role of creating and managing sponsored editorial packages; and Thomas Fox-Brewster, who will join the tech team as a Staff Writer in Forbes’ London office.

Miguel Helft will join Forbes as the San Francisco Bureau Chief, effective January 20, 2015. He will lead Forbes’ technology reporting team, guiding technology coverage, mentoring staff writers, supporting Forbes' contributor model, as well as editing Forbes magazine and online features. He will also be writing regularly for Forbes magazine and Forbes.com, covering top companies and major stories. Most recently, Mr Helft was a Senior Writer at Fortune magazine, covering technology. His 2013 Fortune cover story profiling Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg won a New York Press Club award for feature writing. Previous roles included Technology Writer at The New York Times, Editorial Writer at San Jose Mercury News, Senior Writer at The Industry Standard, Staff Writer at San Jose Mercury News, and a Reporter at the Los Angeles Times. Mr Helft received a B.A. in philosophy and a Masters in computer science from Stanford University.

Loren Feldman will join as Senior Editor of Forbes’ entrepreneurs’ coverage, effective January 5, 2015. In his role, Mr Feldman will manage Forbes’ entrepreneurs vertical on Forbes.com, developing and editing content for Forbes magazine, and overseeing contributors who cover this topic. Most recently, Mr Feldman was the Small Business Editor at The New York Times, where he was responsible for developing a web portal focused on small business and entrepreneurship, emphasizing user engagement and social media. Previously, Mr Feldman was an Editor at Inc.com and a Deputy Editor at Inc. magazine. Mr Feldman has served in various roles at other magazines, including Editor-in-Chief of Philadelphia magazine, Executive Editor of George magazine, Assistant Managing Editor at Money magazine, and as a Senior Editor for The American Lawyer. Mr Feldman received a B.S. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania – the Wharton School.

Josh Robinson will take on a new role creating and managing sponsored editorial packages, effective December 22, 2014. Most recently, Mr Robinson was a digital editor for the Travel Section at The New York Times, focusing on creating interactive content, including Travel’s Photo Feed, a rolling collection of photography from around the world, and a series of user-generated features. He also served as a digital editor at AOL. He received a Bachelor in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.A. in Graphics Communications Management and Technology from New York university.

Thomas Fox-Brewster will join Forbes’ tech team as a Staff Writer, effective January 5, 2015. Based in London, Mr Fox-Brewster will contribute investigative pieces and profiles. He is a top cybersecurity journalist in the UK, having won the BT Security Journalist of the Year award in 2012 and 2013 and best security feature in 2014 for a cybercrime story in The Guardian. Most recently, Mr Fox-Brewster was a freelance technology writer for The Times, The Guardian, WIRED UK, Vice Motherboard and BBC Worldwide. He is a regular contributor to Forbes.com.

He has also served as Deputy Editor at TechWeekEurope and a Senior Staff Writer at IT Pro.
