On sale on 20th April, the redesigned Procycling will have a new logo and will be printed in a new wider format with heavier paper stock, with a more formal and refined design and layout. The glossy new look will combine the images of Tim De Waele, one of the world’s best cycling photographers, with a bolder use of imagery and design.
Launched in 1999, Procycling has shared the highs and lows of professional cycling; the new design will showcase the widened editorial remit which aims to bring readers the same unrivalled access direct from the peleton that they’ve always experienced, but from a broader scope which reports on the races, faces and places of the scene.
Inside the magazine, the ‘Insider’ column has been expanded to include voices from the cycling industry including team managers, riders and technical advisors. The ‘Rider Diaries’ section has also been expanded, with reports now coming direct from the riders themselves as they tour and compete, allowing the reader to have exclusive access to the scene as they report ‘from the inside out’.
Other changes include the ‘Biketest’ section which becomes ‘Prorides’ – where professional bikes are ridden and assessed by ex-pro riders Marcel Wüst and Frankie Andreu, and an extended ‘Wish List’ section which increases to 7-pages per issue and showcases products with more lavish photography. The ‘Program’ section becomes ‘the Guide’, which looks forward to the race calendar for the year, but also gives background to the race country, area, history and includes local insight on the event. Appealing to the international readership of Procycling, ‘the Guide’ section will allow readers from all around the world to feel closer to the heart of the peleton.
Cam Winstanley, Editor of Procycling said: “The last few years have seen cycling become a truly global sport. In this current era of optimism, now seems the perfect time to reflect the increased professionalism of the sport with a version of Procycling with a truly international reach.”
The redesigned issue of Procycling hits the newsstand on 20th April, with a new price of £4.99.
