Help Musicians, the leading UK charity for music professionals from all genres, has also joined as an event partner.
Taking place at a new venue – Camden’s Roundhouse – on Wednesday 2 November 2016, the StubHub Q Awards in association with Absolute Radio will have a brand new format. This will see the event open its doors to music fans for the very first time - in 26 years. It will also include, for the first time, an exclusive live performance. For his third consecutive year, Absolute Radio Breakfast Show presenter and stand-up comedian Christian O’Connell will return as host.
The multi-platform six-week partnership with StubHub will include activity across both Q and Absolute Radio, with highlights including branded content in Q Magazine in the lead up to the event, ownership of the awards hub on Qthemusic.com and sponsorship of Absoluteradio.co.uk/Live. There will also be sponsorship of The Sunday Night Music Club on Absolute Radio, which will focus on Q Awards content each week. In addition, there will be supporting social activity, online and on-air competitions to win tickets, print DPS space and on-air trails across the Absolute Radio network.
Absolute Radio and Q Magazine have built a partnership which sees them jointly reach an audience in excess of 2.5 million music fans across events, radio, print and online, says Bauer.
Abby Carvosso, Group MD, Bauer Advertising, said: "The Q awards continue to evolve to ensure they deliver for the reader, the industry, the magazine and commercial partners and this year we are opening it up to our passionate music fans who are able to step inside the awards for the first time. The StubHub partnership will deliver a deep cultural connection with an audience of engaged music lovers in a unique multi-platform deal spanning both Q and Absolute Radio."
Charles Davies, Global Marketing Director at StubHub, commented: “We are very excited to be the headline sponsor at the Q Awards this year, the very first year fans can attend the event. At StubHub, we love it when an already successful concept develops into something even bigger and better. We want to help fans get to the events that they want to see and we’re proud to be giving fans the opportunity to experience The StubHub Q Awards live at the legendary Roundhouse.”
Q says it is proud to have Help Musicians UK (HMUK) as its charity partner. As Chief Executive, Richard Robinson, explains: “As the country’s leading independent music charity, we play a vital role in supporting the rich and diverse musical landscape of the UK. A landscape so well represented within the pages of Q Magazine. We empower musicians at all stages of their careers, providing life support to the industry and a platform where music can thrive and be valued. That’s why Help Musicians UK is proud to be at the Q Awards.”
