On Friday, The London Magazine relaunched, with a new emphasis on prime London property. First launched in 1991, the magazine has been published by Cedar since 1993, on behalf of CLEA Ltd (Central London Estate Agents). The magazine has been able to call on the expertise of the 46 estate agents within CLEA to produce definitive and expert commentary on the property market, says Cedar.
The publication will refine its audience, distributing the magazine to 75,000 of the most affluent inhabitants in prime London, as well as the international elite via British Airways lounges.
The cover story of the first issue explores the return of British buyers to the luxury property market. Research by Knight Frank shows that in prime London, British buyers are responsible for 53 per cent of sales, up from 27 per cent in 2012.
The magazine also includes a definitive look at the issue of basement conversion; Zoe Dare Hall highlights the borough of Kensington and Chelsea which saw 450 basement applications last year (up from 307 the previous year), a 46 per cent increase on 2012.
Already the capital’s biggest and longest established property title, says Cedar, The London Magazine will continue to stand-out from the competition with a unique offering, exploring why London is great, through the history, architecture and philosophy of the capital.
Overseeing editorial responsibilities will be Anne Cuthbertson, who has come from the Daily Telegraph where she spent 13 years, most recently as editor of the Life section of the newspaper.
